Surrender
We understand that sometimes life circumstances make it impossible to keep a pet. At Michelle’s Kitten Rescue, we strive to help every animal in need, but our space and resources are limited, and we operate entirely through foster homes and volunteers.
Our Intake Process
-
We do our best to accept cats requiring new homes as quickly as possible. However, we are a small rescue with limited foster availability. How quickly we can accept an animal depends on the number of animals currently in our care and the availability of suitable foster homes.

-
Animals are accepted based on priority and available resources.

-
While we wish we could help every animal in need, we are unfortunately not able to accept all surrender requests or assist in every situation. Submitting a surrender request does not guarantee intake.
Before Submitting a Request
-
We recommend reaching out to multiple rescues and resources in your area to explore all available options.

-
Please ensure you are ready to provide full and honest information about your pet, including medical and behavioral history.

-
A surrender fee may apply, depending on the level of care your pet will require.

Emergency Surrenders
We understand that sometimes situations arise where a cat is in immediate danger or needs urgent care. If your cat is facing an emergency — for example:
-
Injury or illness requiring immediate veterinary attention
-
Unsafe living conditions (abuse, neglect, unsafe environment)
-
Orphaned kittens needing immediate care

Please contact us immediately. Our team will assess the situation and guide you on next steps. While we may have limited space, we will do our best to prioritize urgent cases and connect with an available foster homes or partner organizations if we cannot take the cat in immediately.
