Surrender
We understand that sometimes life circumstances make it impossible to keep a pet. At Michelle’s Kitten Rescue, we strive to help every animal in need, but our space and resources are limited, and we operate entirely through foster homes and volunteers.
How the Surrender Process Works
-
Contact Us First
Reach out to our team to discuss your situation. This helps us evaluate each case and plan for the best care possible. A volunteer will respond within 48–72 hours — we appreciate your patience as we handle a large number of calls every day.

-
Complete a Surrender Form
Before scheduling an appointment, we ask that you fill out our online surrender form. This helps us understand your cat’s personality, medical history, and needs so we can find the best path forward

Emergency Surrenders
We understand that sometimes situations arise where a cat is in immediate danger or needs urgent care. If your cat is facing an emergency — for example:
-
Injury or illness requiring immediate veterinary attention
-
Unsafe living conditions (abuse, neglect, unsafe environment)
-
Orphaned kittens needing immediate care

Please contact us immediately. Our team will assess the situation and guide you on next steps. While we may have limited space, we will do our best to prioritize urgent cases and connect with an available foster homes or partner organizations if we cannot take the cat in immediately.
