About Michelle’s Kitten Rescue
& Adoption Service

Michelle’s Kitten Rescue & Adoption Service began the way many rescues do — with one person, a lifelong love of animals, and the inability to look away.

What started as a small Facebook group has grown into a full-time, 24/7 rescue operation serving The Greater Toronto Area. Days (and nights) are spent searching barns, backyards, sheds, and abandoned buildings for tiny lives born into unsafe, overcrowded, or unloved conditions — kittens who would otherwise be left behind.

Since 2017 over a thousand kittens have come through our care. Each one arrives with a different story: some orphaned far too young, some sick or injured, some simply unwanted. All of them deserve safety, medical care, and a chance at a loving home.

We are a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue. We do not euthanize healthy cats / kittens for space or convenience. We grow not because we want to, but because the need never stops. Every call we can’t answer breaks our hearts — and every kitten we can save reminds us why this work matters.

Michelle has been rescuing animals for as long as she can remember. Starting this rescue was the realization of a lifelong dream: to save as many lives as possible and give each kitten the love and dignity they deserve.

We rely entirely on the support of our community — adopters, fosters, and donors — to continue this work. Every adoption opens space for another kitten in need.

Our Mission

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome cats & kittens in need, while treating every life with compassion, respect, and patience.

Black-And-White Kitten

Rescue

We take in abandoned, orphaned, stray, surrendered, and at-risk cats & kittens, including those from hoarding situations. We work with members of the community and other rescue organizations to identify cats & kittens in danger and step in where help is needed most. As a donation-supported rescue, surrender fees may be requested to help offset the medical and care costs each kitten requires.

Rehabilitation

Cats & Kittens in our care receive proper nutrition, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment, microchipping, and spay/neuter surgery when old enough. When necessary, we arrange emergency medical care and specialized treatments. Just as important, we provide love, patience, and socialization — especially for frightened or undersocialized kittens learning to trust for the first time.

Rehoming

Once kittens are healthy and ready, we work carefully to match them with loving, responsible homes. Our goal is not just adoption, but the right adoption — ensuring each kitten’s future is safe, stable, and filled with care.

We also  work with adoption partner  Pet Valu and foster volunteers - to match them with loving families in our community.
